It's not reasonable, and no, you shouldn't be so limited. But that's an 
idealogical stance (which, incidentally, I support).

You can already do all those things using the current Squeezecenter 
database. If you tag your files with the information, then Squeezecenter 
will find the tracks for you.

I suggest you spend some time finding out just what Squeezecenter can do 
before suggesting how it should be improved.
