This really will develop into a flame war if we're not careful -
calling everyone who doesn't agree "barmy" is a good way to start one!

I could give a dozen reasons why the scheme described here won't work
well for many people, but I really can't be bothered.

Here's another suggestion.

Everyone who has their own idea about how to tag classical music write
it up in a wiki page.  Lets call the pages something like
MySchemeAmcluesent so they end up together in the index, then we can
link out to all of them from a list at the bottom of the main wiki
page.

An accompanying responsibility to publishing such a page is answering
queries from all the new users who are trying it out and wondering why
they're getting such odd effects popping up here and there.

How about it?
