I'm refering to tags in the files that would be scanned by the software (SC or other) to store information and browse. With a FLAC tagging scheme (multi tag are several instance of a tag with the same name), it could look like: >>> Beethoven - 9th Symphonie - I. Adagio.flac >> Standard and advanced standard Tags > ALBUM = Beethoven - 9th Symphonie - Herreweghe - HM317 > TRACK = 01/04 > ARTIST = Ludwig von Beethoven > ARTISTSORT = Beethove, Ludwig > COMPOSER = Ludwig von Beethoven > COMPOSERSORT = Beethove, Ludwig > CONDUCTOR = Philip Herreweghe > CONDUCTOR = Herreweghe, Philip > GENRE = Classical > YEAR = 1985 > ORIGYEAR = 1732 >> Few additional versatile tagging style (some >>are a repetition of the above, anybody can use >>its own tagging scheme on this basis with or >>without repetition) > > CREDIT = Conductor: Philip Herreweghe > CREDITSORT = Conductor: Herreweghe, Philip > > CREDIT = Orchestra: Dweller Consort > CREDITSORT = Orchestra: Dweller Consort > > CREDIT = Choir: Dweller Choir > CREDITSORT = Choir: Dweller Choir > > CREDIT = Singer: Placido Domingo > CREDITSORT = Singer: Domingo, Placido > > CREDIT = Singer: Rene Flemming > CREDITSORT = Singer: Flemming Rene > > CREDIT = Composer: Ludwig von Beethoven > CREDITSORT = Composer: Beethoven, Ludwig > > TAG = Genre: Classical > TAG = Genre: Symphonies > TAG = Genre: 18th Century > TAG = Period: Baroque > TAG = Composed: 1732 > TAG = Published: 1736 > TAG = First Performance: 1733 > TAG = Composer birth date: 1708 > TAG = Recording place: Concertgebouw, Vienna > TAG = Recording year: 1995 > TAG = Media Type: SACD > TAG = Work: 9th Symphonie > TAG = Catalog Number: Op. 123 > TAG = Catalog Number: BWV 1139 (don't try to look at the veracity of the data, it's just an example) These tags TAGs and CREDITs could then be imported by SC (or other) and used as a generic tags for filtering and browsing according to the xxxxx: values contained. This would work along with a browsing scheme like "dynamic browsing" of CustomBrowse. This scheme would permit anybody to do tag music its very own style and level of complexity (use just 'singer' credits or 'soprano' or 'bass' credits, or a multi valued 'singer', 'soprano'). I hope things are clearer now.
