I have completed the tag transformation - Using MP3Tag to "cut tags" took about 6 hrs for 9,500 song files, using an AMD 2.3 GHZ dual core with 4 GB RAM, 7,200 rpm HD's and Windows Vista Basic ( I have a compact Dell refurb that I use for my music server).
The "paste tags" took less time - Likley less than an hour - I left for dinner and when iI got back, it was complete. All my tags now say "FLAC" in MP3Tag. Thanks to all for the help !
