I recently bought a new Mac and upgraded to the latest Squeezecenter
version (7.2). I use iTunes to for ripping directly to my ReadyNas. I
rip my files to AIFF because i don't want to compress the files. If i
use Apple Lossless and listen to a Random mix on my Duet the volume is
all over the place and i don't want to have the Duet keep the sound
steady for all my music, (I feel that it compromises the sound
quality).

Before my computer upgrade i could play AIFF files with no problem on
my old system. Is there a problem with ver. 7.2? I'm new to all of this
so maybe i don't have something set up correctly.

Would i be better off using a program like MAX instead of iTunes? I
grown accustomed to iTunes for it's ease of use, but if MAX is a better
solution i could go that route.
