Guys, the network throughput to play discrete AIF files is HUGE!! Much more bandwidth is required that any other file type, except for discrete/native WAV files. You really need to make sure your network, especially wireless, can handle the bandwidth.
BTW, I use Apple Lossless and have NO complaints with its quality, as it is, as the name states, LOSSLESS. I've been in the recording business for over 37 years and can HIGHLY recommend the new lossless codecs!! This would include FLAC as well as ALAC (Apple Lossless). You will save 50% of the file size (in most cases) and NOT be able to tell the difference in audio quality. Also, native AIFF doesn't really support tags. That's one of the MAJOR advantages of using ALAC or FLAC, especially when running with SqueezeCenter. -- Eric Seaberg Eric Seaberg - San Diego A.E.S., S.M.P.T.E., S.P.A.R.S.
