Disagree here, been using Vista for a couple years and have installed it hundreds of times on a wide variety of hardware. Your standard Vista install uses 800-900MB RAM for standard daily tasks, and appears to need about half a gig on top of that for superfetch caching nonsense, but it really doesn't need it. Most retail machines are so bogged down with free trialware and adware that they really do need more than 1GB. But if you install a fresh clean install 1GB is fine for nearly all daily tasks. I will say that Vista will likely need more than 1GB by the time SP2 comes out, though. -- CatBus ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CatBus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7461 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51938 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
