If I search for Pink Floyd it will find it/them. It apears it knows it is there, but decides not to show it in the artist list. (I am talking Squeeze centre itself here, although it is missing from controller and SB3 too) If I navigate to the album and then click on the Artist Link, the menu header on S/Center says Home/Artists/Pink Floyd.
I am going to move everything out of the Music folder, bar the Floyd stuff and then rescan, just to see if it is somthing elsewhere in the library causing this, as at the moment, I can't see anything wrong with the actual PF Mp3tags. Tomorrow though as I have had enough for one night. What baffles me is, as I said in my initial post, if I deliberately put in the wrong name, transposing to Floyd Pink using MP3 tag, then the artist "Floyd Pink" appears in the list fine, exactl as you would expect.
