For diagnosis, you might want to use 'Tycho’s metamp3' (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=49751) tool like this: METAMP3 --INFO FILENAME.MP3 It shows much more (albeit not -all-) tags than many tag editors handle.
