If SBS becomes the most-loved network media player, how its customers will set their tags for use by the application (ultimately what the application supports) will define tagging policy used by others. Things move on - just because apps written 10 years ago were sloppy and didn't support multiple artists, genres, compilation tags, etc, doesn't mean that that is some standard that can't change. As more apps support better music library management, more tagging applications will change to support it.
