I think the more common way is to append gaps to the previous file. This way you get similar behavior in playback software when skipping to the next track, and you get the originally intended gap lengths when playing adjacent files from the same CD. > For use with a squeezebox, this isn't an issue. I don't know about other rippers, but when ripping with EAC it's not necessary to rip the CD as a single file to reproduce it exactly. You can rip as separate files and have EAC append gaps to the previous track. You need to create a 'non-compliant' CUE sheet in EAC (this is the default type of CUE sheet if you use 'Create CUE Sheet > Current Gap Settings...'. I do this as matter of course when ripping any CD.
