OK I did it and I am done! SBS indicates that I have 1457 albums with 21282 songs by 2187 artists. Thank you Garym for all your advice!
I first did a mass conversion of all my WAV files to FLAC to my Pioneer Pro with dbPowerAmp back in August. It did fairly well and took 13 1/2 hours using all four cores simultaneously of PC processor. After I saw the results of the conversion I just let the project sit for a few weeks because I knew it would take a lot of hours/days to edit and organize the tags and attach the album cover art to each of the FLAC files. So as everyone said despite the amount of effort I put in it, I have to agree the benefits of FLAC tags are great. I even got the Squeezebox gadget for Windows 7 and Vista so I can control my Transporter from whatever PC I am near. When my Verizon contract is up for my Smartphone this December I'm going to get an iPhone so I can use it as a Squeezebox remote controller. I haven't read too many great things about the Logitech Squeezebox Controller. If the Logitech Squeezebox Touch were 802.11n Dual Band compliant I probably would buy one of those too, but I read that there are dropouts with wireless connections. In the meantime, I just hook up a couple of powered speakers to my notebook and play my FLACs with Winamp while I'm out in the yard gardening. Thanks guys.....I like this system very much. Now to tackle my classical collection which is about double the amount of the contemporary CDs I just converted to FLAC. -- edr ------------------------------------------------------------------------ edr's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38851 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80461 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
