R14 of dbpa does not have any renewals for metadata source (this is new
as prior to this it is correct that there was a $5 renewal fee for the
AMG metadata source).

accuraterip is no sales gimmick. It is a very useful feature for
getting accurate rips. I too have many cds that accuraterip doesn't
find (obscure stuff). But it finds a lot (in my case maybe 60% of my
cds) and saves lots of time while helping insure an accurate rip.

I'm not familiar with winamp's ripping quality, but in several years of
reading about this on several forums, I've never seen any users serious
about ripping (or conversion) quality recommend winamp. For windows
users, it is always EAC, dbpa, and sometimes foobar. I've used all 3
and dbpa is my preferred choice. It is the best $30-40 bucks I've ever
spent. I have the family pack as I use it on one machine at home and
also on my machine at the office.

If you really don't want to spend the money, you can always use EAC for
ripping. It has accuraterip too.
