Perhaps there is some misunderstanding. The iMic (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/imic) has selectable line in or mic inputs, and a line-level output. However, the connection to the computer is normally done through output to a USB connection, although the line level output could presumably be used.
The turntable is connected to the iMic using a y-adapter (2xRCA to 1/8" stereo plug), and into the mic jack. There is an internal pre-amp activated with the switch set to mic.
