Yes, I could select a folder and start the process (sometimes it
crashed during the Collecting stage and sometimes at the beginning of
the Fingerprinting stage). I noticed that the track counter was still
moving although the Windows crash dialog had appeared.

Aha. I did not know that. I tried one final time and the program this
time only reported nearly 53k tracks. This time the program has not
crash (yet) and is at the moment at some 25k submitted tracks.
