The advantage is that the album will appear in the album list of each
artist. Take your example above and the following tagging:

ALBUMARTIST=John Abercrombie, Dave Holland & Jack DeJohnette
ARTIST=John Abercrombie
ARTIST=Dave Holland
ARTIST=Jack DeJohnette

If you don't see any of these three artists in the artist list then it
means that they don't have other albums of their own. But if any of
these three artists did have other albums then they _would_ be
included in the artist list. And this particular album will then appear
among the albums listed for them.

If you did the following, with no album artist:

ARTIST=John Abercrombie
ARTIST=Dave Holland
ARTIST=Jack DeJohnette

Then LMS will show the album as being by something like: "Dave Holland,
Jack DeJohnette, John Abercrombie". It just appends them all (I think
alphabetically). All three arists in the case _will_ appear in the
artist list, regardless of whether or not they have other albums.

If you did this:

ARTIST=John Abercrombie, Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette

Then the album would not be listed for any of the individual artists.
