Really interesting and I've come to the same conclusion that less is better. My genre list is less than 20, and even then I usually search by artist rather than anything else. Is there any sort of standard set though that album producers use ? I'm thinking that when I rip or download an album it often comes with pre-defined genres - which probably won't match with my set. So I guess that means I'll have to remember to edit them each time.
