Hi,

I've run into similar issues with the M-Audio Delta cards - a need to put
isolation transformers in the audio lines to
get a clean sound.

I've also run into an issue on the Delta 1010 about a year or two ago where I
had to replace bad capacitors in the
breakout box (bulging caps). It isn't difficult to change, however it was an
annoyance. I'm not sure if this is a
common issue with the 1010 breakout boxes or if it was just this particular box
had the caps go.

But on the other hand if you're looking for an inexpensive card (especially if
you're willing to purchase off ebay) that
can do multiple inputs / outputs, has decent Linux support, and you're willing
to live with the fact that you might end
up putting in transformers in the audio lines (or replace a cap or two), the
m-audio delta line isn't all that bad.
