Hi, Just a word on the Deltas, I've been told by several suppliers that they are end of life. They are still purchasable all over the place though and have been for the last 6 months since I got that news. The horrible thing is unless you're looking at USB/Firewire I honestly haven't found any decent cards with multiple outputs without getting into the ASI money territory.
I still don't trust USB/Firewire for production due to horrible past experiences although I must admit I have two little 2 in, 2 out boxes (1 stereo in/out) that have been fine. I've also had a hard time getting Firewire Audio working under linux as most still stick to Mac and Windows . The only other cards I can find as a middle ground between Deltas and ASI are things like the Digigram VX820e ($600 vs ASI $900+). I have no idea how well they work under Linux/Riv although they are meant to be ALSA compatible so in theory they might be ok. I don't know how the ASI's work with Riv but they're meant to have time stretching built in and generally do other things to offload the audio processing from the CPU.
