Not sure if this is a good idea, but here goes. If you have a decent server, or can buy one on ebay for a couple hundred bucks, then you could use raspberry pi's in the studio(s). I know some folks don't like to go that route, but we are using them in an RF environment, and they seem to be holding up fine. I have an image you can use for the pi, or it can be compiled from source. The music and database can be on the server, and you can put the pi's wherever you need them. This may not be idea, but it would be a cheap startup, until they can bring in some cash. That way you can use a LAN and avoid internet setups.
