No, not at all. I've been lurking from day one and share exactly the same

Amen to all of that! (-log4j directly, +slf4j for clogging compatibility)

(svn co, mvn install) or unzip, run. Anything else is "not good enough".
Make it easy to develop (in an IDE), easy to build and easy to test!
