Here's something even worse for the ISP's. SBC is currently buying bandwidth from Wiltel (Williams Communications) and is in the final stages of their own network being built out. As soon as they impliment that and dump the cost of buying bandwidth they're going to lower their rates even more. It's estimated to be around the $10 range for the drop. Wireless is going to be the only way for ISP's to come close to offering the same service w/o the overhead. Tough times...
