I'd generally recommend you not do the 'dual boot' think.
Not for any technical reasons.. but rather because (in my
experience) one OS or the other will pretty much never get
booted... I only say this because I spent so many years
volunteering at installfests and seeing some of the same
people come in over and over again saying, 'Yeah, I have
(insert three year old distro here) on my second partition..
but I haven't booted it in ages.. so I'm just going to blow
the whole disk away an install..'
One alternative is to get two systems, even if one is
substantially slower than the other, and then run VNC
between them to have 'the other box in a window'.
A cleaner alternative is to buy a copy of VMWare and use
that to run both OS'es at the same time.
Personally, I'm down to running knoppix off CD on my
laptop with a USB stick drive.... (HDD failed) :)
If you are really intent on doing dual-boot, I'd
recommend you do this... that way upgrading is just
a matter of burning a new CD.... :-)
