Cygwin may be able to do what you require, but it will be _slow_. Not
just slow due to Cygwin, X is bulky and doesn't forward over the
Internet
well. I suggest that you investigate a Virtual Network Computing (VNC)
solution. There are several open source, cross platform solutions
on the
market. Some can be run with reasonable performance over a dialup
connection. Let me know if you need more info. I'd be happy to
research
the topic more.
