Well, actually, a standards-geek will footnote the checkmark next
to standards compliance for that tool on some huge checklist and a
mindless-manager, without even reading the footnote will decide to
stay away from the tool because of the footnote. (I know this happens,
I have wasted a lot of energy getting tools un-blacklisted for very
similar reasons.
