Don't have a cow. No offense, but any script kiddie already HAS a script to do this. And there are ways to defend against it. One way is to use connection tracking and drop the connections once it hits a certain number. A quick search on google turned up several programs to do things like this. It also makes a good case to leave in the /dev/null file handle if you don't have code to track this. Jef
