Ben, the issue seems to be the Gay community views 'homo' as
Blacks view 'nigger'. That is, while the statement, "I like nigger
music.", is not an insult directed at anyone but merely an adjective
applied to a category, it is nevertheless offensive. I know Blacks
call each other 'nigger', but searching on Google I only found two
sites run by Gays using Homo.
Edwin, the controversy was started when 'yellow', as applied to Yoko
Ono, was censured. It was pointed out that if ethnic groups were
protected from slurs, then those of a certain sexual preference should
also enjoy the same.
Tom, the scenario you propose could well be the case. The Grand
Poobah has yet to comment. I'm asking you guys just to get an outside,
generalised world perspective. Your suggestion about a channel won't
help though, this became an issue after someone logged in with the
name "AnalHOMO".
