XMPP is working again. A change from about a year ago made the server stop generating a default email address for new users if they didn't have one configured. Empty email addresses beget broken JIDs. I believe I have it fixed. Now in the place where the default address change was made, I had written a comment that says "this breaks things" but I don't remember what it broke. So before I release this code I've got to see if there were any side effects.
