Actually you did and like greased lightning too! >Anyway, it's nice to know there are users of 2.1 who find RG4 a >worthwhile project. It's just different enough that I'd wondered >whether we might have alienated all the old 2.1 users with it. I doubt you will ever find a way of alienating us crusty old 2.1 users! You, Rich and Andy wrote the first ever notation-based composition tool for Linux, and very generously made it into an open-source project. I think RG4 has great potential as a notation-based composition tool for Linux. You're adding many useful features like "Normalize Rests", dynamic font sizing and spacing which Rosegarden 2.1 lacks. I particularly like the clarity of the layout of the user interface and of the scores themselves in the feta font (overlapping accidentals excepted). For the moment, I'm continuing to use Rosegarden 2.1 for notation-based composition and am eagerly awaiting the day I can start using RG4 instead. The RG4 features look excellent. I can't use RG4 only because the various glitches and undo/redo crashes described in my previous emails make it impracticable for writing long pieces.
