I had the same problem after upgrading my system and had sent you an 
email about it once I found the solution (it's a bug with the kernel 
regarding the nvidia chipset, you must disable 'cpu spread spectrum' in 
the BIOS).

Forget 64 bits, unless you're running a server it won't bring you
