It said so in their adverts. > > A couple of points where you are totally wrong, though : > >> all the great open source stuff is X > > On OS X ? I can't live without Gimp/Krita (like photoshop, but you can script them). Rosegarden (it's o sequencer, only different -- we hacked t :). I won't bore people with my personal list. I guess everybody has their own favourites. I know GTK has a windows port, so gimp ain't just X11, but it's gruesome. We had to patch the source by hand before it would build. > > - what's the color of the sky on your planet ? Or was that just a joke on slashdot? Downloading Darwinports is fine... it just doesn't install right now. I needed it for rdiff-backup, and it let me down. I know, you'll say I should have been using time machine, but I've got Windows, Macs, Linux and Solaris on my network. Sorry, no idea. Yes, it does. But what's there works great. If you look at the release notes at the bottom of our chopanaliser page (http:// markov.music.gla.ac.uk/Click-Chopin/) you'll see what I mean. > >> If you just want to use what you've given, the Mac is great, and >> total eye candy. But I just ask you this -- it's sort of a genuine question. Have you found the proper documentation for core midi yet? 'cos all I could find was a bunch of example programs. Not that I've looked since 2005, so I might be wrong. But it didn't spread happiness and joy at the time, I can tell you.
