I was in a Catch 22 situation. You asked me to look at a list which I was happy to do, but there was no point in making a list based upon old software. On the other hand I didn't know how to compile. Catch 22. The only way out was to ask a couple of dumb questions. In short rebuild = make. How simple can it be, especially after you know the answer!
Today I tried make and it took some minutes, so I waited for it to grind through. Then I did make again and with a big smile I noticed this time it was very fast since there was nothing to do. So I ran "svn up" again, got a few updates and ran make again. Somewhat faster this time around. Now I ran svn up again and now it was fast and make told me again there was nothing to do. In short, I don't really care what the list of bugs was, as long as I get the latest version, I can test something. I just didn't want to test yesterday's or last week's version. I don't think I need an IDE. (I've been using them ever since my first Borland c++ IDE.) If I were to choose one now, I would probably choose NetBeans as I like it, am familiar with it and use it for my Java stuff. It has a c++ interface, but other than to try it, I've never seriously used the c++ part. In any case I'm happy that you got me out of my dumb questions with Catch 22. You have patience even with the dumb questions.
