I've just committed something for this, accessed via the Segment menu on the 
main window, following what's already there for turning repeats into copies. 
It's easily moved if that's not the right place for it.

I'm just going to carry on committing to that branch until told otherwise.

Yup, the cut/copy/paste range stuff is borked - it's the next thing on my list 
and at a first glance looks like it should be fairly straightforward to mend. 
Cut/copy/paste at the segment level is fine though.

This also looks like it should be fairly straightforward to get something 
reasonable happening for a first pass at it. Watch this space.
