Note that you can use Q_DECLARE_TR_FUNCTIONS in classes that don't derive from QObject, so you almost never need to spell out the full QCoreApplication::translate() ... except in main() itself. But yeah that's not "get control" as in "choosing something different from the class name", in the case of QObjects.
