I agree with Rainer, Ben and David on this. Calling to have everything but the Github repo shut down is unrequired. The nice thing about Git is that it is extremely easy to keep any number of remotes up to date from your local repo with little to no effort. I understand Otis would like to see the SEO of a single location driven higher. There is a benefit to that, however sometimes SEO has to be sacrificed for the desires of the community. Adiscon wants to keep their repos active, however they are willing to look at Github to see what tools and options it offers. On top of that they have setup an environment that allows people who prefer Github (I'll admit I'm one of them) to push their PRs to the environment knowing that it will be distributed to the rest.
I think this particular horse is pretty dead. All of the git repos are here to stay.
