Hi,

If you use the system only for control purposes and do
not need to log anything, you can make the partition
read only. My attempt to try to crash a read-only
partition did not succeed after hundreds of trials.
If you are afraid that the disk itself would be
damaged at power off, you might consider using
DiskOnChip products which is available from
M-systems. I've successfully used it with a
single board computer with just regular
Linux.
