Many thanks for your explanation though I don't understand it.
Let me give you two examples for why I think that urxvt has keybindings
that interfere with my emacs keybindings.
I use ALT-s for `save-buffer' which works e.g. in roxterm, konsole or
gnome-terminal. But urxvt displays message: 

Scrollback search, see the urxvtperl manpage for details.
(escape cancels), (?i)

Second, I use f4 for save-buffer, which also works in the previous
mentioned terminals but only inserts a `~' in urxvt. The function keys
from f5 to f12 however work.
