my my, what is that kit that everybody would buy at least one of?
years ago when i operated suncoast models, the only request i ever got
was from somebody who wanted me to produce an HO Scale AT&SF 1880's
pile driver, and he didn't mention that he would buy one. so for one,
i pay absolutely no attention to anybody's wish lists, as i've found
them to be whisps in the wind for the most part.
so, when it comes to new offerings, we all take the chance and very
well may take it in the shorts when it comes to actually selling the
offering.
now for a bit of reality, i had posted some time ago of my making
brick wall castings in S Scale (for 1 and 3 story brick industrial
structures) and i will share with you all that the responce i got was
at best, marginal, and certainly not enough to proceed. as i model in
P48 and do what kieth has done, to have a one of a for his railroad
and make it for others, if i end up selling anything i do to my O
scale comrades, it's icing on the cake. and you if you say you don't
have room for the drive-in? collecting stamps takes up even less room.
i have been thinking about S Scale over the years, but even though
space can be an issue, i am going to stay in O Scale, P48 due to the
fact that there is a wealth of really well done products out there,
light years ahead of S and HO for that matter.
seems like the only guarantee of sales is to make plastic RTR cars and
locos in china and charge USA dollars for them. uck
now if i hit the lottery, all bets are off.
