All --
The reason there are no three-point track gauges presently available is
likely because of varying railhead widths. Each rail size (125, 100,
83, 70) has a different width railhead. And sometimes you will find
different widths within the same nominal rail size (O scale code 100 vs.
S scale code 100, for example). A three-point gauge must be made for a
specific railhead width. That's just too many combinations for a
practical commercial product.
The best way (for me, at least) to gauge rail on curves, if spreading
out the gauge on curves is what you want to do, is to use the NASG track
gauge makimum measurement -- where the gauge just drops in off its
little shelf.
