I am not interested in proving anyone wrong but you will find that there is
great disagreement in any scale as to which passenger cars should be
produced. They are so unique and yet so similar if one does the research.
Before Rapido came along in HO with their RTR CNR 1954 Super Continental
Cars, the only show in town was Athabaska Models. They produced etchings of
CNR smooth side cars and CPR Canadian cars which used a roof and floor kit
similar to what has been suggested on this list. The roofs and underframes
could be detailed to model a particular car either Budd or Pullman or CC&F.
Perhaps a 'shell' kit could be produced for Budd and/or Pullman that could
use Laser Horizons sides (or anyone elses). Just a thought but then is
there really a marketplace? (Flame on.)
BTW, sadly because of Rapido and its RTR cars, I predict that the Athabaska
kits are going to go the way of the Dodo. Almost any table at flea markets
have them now for greatly reduced prices, at least in the GWN.
It's old news that these cars can be produced in China RTR with everything
correct on them for less than half of an Athabaska brass kit with no decals,
paint, couplers or trucks.
