Reason is that only about half of us do e-mail. The entire S scale
fraternity deserves a publication, not just us "techies."

A multi-faceted website presenting articles about general modeling with
S scale in the background will bring more people to S scale. There is a
large contingent looking for free information on the internet. My On30
website brought people from the pool of HO "Hi-Railers", which is the
majority of the hobby, to On30 because there were articles about
modeling other things. The pool of non-techies on the internet is quite
large because they are looking for free info and find magazines too
expensive for the content. The group of modelers looking for a larger
scale has increased and with the price of HO increasing so dramatically
there is a chance to increase the niche.

The Narrow Gauge and Shortline Gazette is an example. It is
deteriorating in quality because all the old geezers writing for the
magazine are dying off. The internet is full of narrow gauge activity.
Of the two groups on-line is increasing and off-line is slowly eroding.
I am sure there are more people that can be lured into S scale from the
real world.
