Hi all --

Personally, I have always found it amazing what manufacturers produce vs.
what I think would be most sellable. In plastic I would have produced
SD40/40-2's and SD-7/9's long before PA's, FA's, TM's and U-25's. HOWEVER,
I bought PA's and a TM, whereas I wouldn't buy an SD40 (though an SD7/9
would probably separate me from my money). It wasn't my money spent making
these choices, so I cannot second guess nor gripe...

Have fun!

some nice new modern era models ..." -- Dave

EDITED

The problem, for me, is not a lack of publicity or advertising
but a shortage of suitable models, especially locomotives.
What are the most popular prototypes ?
Can they be produced to the same standards as in other scales ?
Is that where the desired growth would most likely come from ?
I would be interested, I would be knocked out, if someone like
Atlas, or Kato, or Tower55, or anyone else who currently matches
that quality of R-T-R production, were to come out with some of
the more popular prototypes in S scale.
I do know there are historical reasons against, and I know
there's a chicken-and-egg situation regards minimum demand,
but just for the sake of making some suggestions :

Steam : 4-6-0, light 4-6-2, 2-8-2 etc. ...
Diesel : GP-20, GP-38, SD-40, SD-40-2, Dash-8, or ES44DC !

I definitely don't want to seem offensive to anybody.
Happy modeling anyway, to all, and more success to those who
make the hobby possible.

Cheers.
Pete.
