Indeed! I occasionally look at the 0 scale magazine on the internet. 0 scale does offer some wonderful products, but has anyone checked the price recently. For a resin box car kit $120.00? That's getting up there. Love the size, hate the prices, love S more.

Great experience. Learned a lot from the layout visits about how to manage a design within certain space limitations. There are a lot more O Scalers. A good "installed" base of layouts, and great modellers. Their convention was filled with clinics on how to model and how to solder and work on locomotives. Well attended, and well marketed. Their scale dates back readily to the 1920's... and that helps a lot. Lots and lots of recycled products.... as well as new. The O Scale equivalent of S Scale Loco & Supply selling USRA kits never played peek-a-boo but is still active and all kits available. Lots of stuff. Mouth watering. S scale is younger as a scale and many of our 1st generation core still younger than many O scalers. O scale has begun to turn over the generations. Don't let O-scale envy get to you! Takes a long, long time to get things off the ground. S scale is a great scale! Stick with it. All that said, I'm a big supporter of including S scale material in O scale publications. There are very similar problems, dynamics, and markets for these two scales. And much that is complimentary. No one else swings for this idea, so it goes nowhere. Skip Yahoo!
