Bill, DCC + Sound in the SW-1 is definitely possible. See this site for a sample installation:
http://www.dccinfo.com On the left side menu, look under Installations for the SHS SW-1 In addition to the motor decoders listed, I would probably use the Lenz Gold Mini-W or Lenz Silver Mini-W decoders if I were doing this installation today.
