Although I don't have sound in any of my diesel switchers, I would see 
no reason not to use the Soundtraxx LC type decoder.  I hope I got the 
style right--it's a smaller all-in-one decoder with several horns 
built-in.  I installed one in my Turbine just to get the horn and bell 
sounds.  I think the total cost was about $90.  The instruction manual 
for this decoder is the same for the decoders used in SHS's F units, so 
I assume similar circuits are used for both.
