I will take exception to your statement, as I am sure Jim K., Dan N., and
Bill P. will also. I have at least 20 brass steamers, both S and Sn3, and
I would match them against ANY other style of construction. Whlie these
are all largely hand made and therefore have an occasional quirk, once they
are debugged (only rarely significant), they are amazing machines. My most
common fix to older brass is better quality motors, but the new stuff
already has this.
Brass diesels, so far, have not been quite as good (not counting the new
"sharks" that I have not seen operate).

Yeah, but its still BRASS... leaving most of us facing two facts... (1) its
will be priced out of reach of most of us, AND (2) it will probably have
operational issues (read : won't run well).
