I agree with Bob on this. 

Time to get down to the business of building layouts running S-Scale trains.  

Last weekend my Father came for a visit and brought a great looking brass 
Mo-Pac 2-8-0, 18 period freight cars and caboose to run.  The train ran and 
looked great on my layout!(The 60" top level really makes you feel like you're 
rail fanning) The cars had #5s, 802s, and SHS couplers and the wheels were from 
many different manufacturers.  I couldn't tell you which cars had what couplers 
and wheels and more importantly, it didn't matter.  The train ran great stayed 
coupled together and didn't derail.  In my opinion, you can nit pick couplers, 
wheels, rail size, and hundreds of other things in our scale, but when it all 
comes together running around the layout, no one thing stands out.
