The fellow who owns Scenic Express told me once that excellent quality
scenery will, as a category, be the most expensive stuff on a layout.
In his mind the main categories were: locos, cars, structures, track,
and scenery. Noticeably absent was "electronics" (DCC, etc.), but I
doubt that would have changed his thoughts anyway. To him, scenery
expenses outdid all others. Interesting to think that scenery of all
things is so expensive that clinics exist on how to do it cheaper.
