I don't deny the SHS SW's (and F's and 2-8-0's) are fine loco's, but 
I wouldn't have gotten into S if it weren't for the AM FP-7.  So, you 
can blame AM for me being here.  

Which begs the question, would there have BEEN an SHS if it weren't 
for AM?  Maybe, maybe not.  Tough call, I can't seem to access the 
space-time continuum to find out...

I also came up from HO and see nothing wrong with the "blue box" 
mentality.  Basic is good.  And if the "blue boxes" weren't 
successful, Athearn wouldn't still be making them.

I couldn't help but noticing in the MR 75th Anniversary issue, the 
lead photographs in the farewell to the V&O article there's an old 
Rivarossi (AHM) U25C heading up the train.  Good way back when, basic 
by today's standards for sure.  Guess W. Allen McCelland wasn't much 
of a model railroader...
