People like John Allen, Frank Ellison and Allen McClellan have made
contributions to our enjoyment of the hobby that far transcend the scale that
they modeled in. I have a G & D box car on my layout and would gladly honor the
others by having cars decorated for their roads. I agree with Don that the old
"birds of a feather stick together" theory applies to our model railroad tastes
rather than scale. As far as interfacing with folks in the other scales, those
of us who belong to the NMRA do just that simply by being NMRA members. One of
the threads over at the MRH site was started by an N scaler that complained
about the HO bias of the NMRA. He was rebuffed by a lot of people that said
that the real fault lied in the lack of participation by N scalers (sound
familiar?).
